Museum of Ancient Life

Well, it was Memorial Day and once again, for the 5th straight year in a row, it was raining. Utah is soooooo not that fun when it's raining, especially when you want to go outside because you've been stuck inside for the past two and a half weeks because of rain. I am SO over it.

Bryan and I didn't exactly know what to do, but we've been meaning to go to the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point for a while now, so in we went. If you remember anything about my Honeymoon post, you'll remember that Bryan kinda has this thing for dinosaurs. His favorite place was the Jurassic Park area of Islands of Adventure. So this is right up his alley, and it's his birthday week, so we needed to do things he likes anyway. So behold, my little picture gallery. I would put the names of the dinosaurs with the pictures, but to be honest, I can't remember most of them anymore.

This one is a baby Stegosaurus!
This one is called a Supersaurus. Really.
Apatosaurus. I think. You know, like Little Foot from Land Before Time.
T. Rex. At least this one's easy to remember.
I had to include this one because it was the weirdest looking Pterosaur. (Which is the real word for flying dinosaurs, because if they fly, they technically aren't dinosaurs.)
It flies, but also "walks" on it's wing arms and tiny hind legs. Creepy.
This is the Loch Ness Monster. It's a weird angle, but I wanted to get the length of the neck. It was huge! It was like 2 times longer than the rest of it's body.
Lastly, the ginormous turtle. Everything was huge. Even a 7 foot long millipede which was as wide as me. Yuck. All I could think of was that scene in the new King Kong. You know which one.
This was just cool. It's a tornado in a can. A large can, but still, I remember making water tornadoes with 2-liter bottles, but this was way more cool.
So yes, a rainy day came out to be much more interesting and enlightening than I would have originally thought it. And there were so many things for kids! If you have a museum for ancient life near you, I would suggest you go.

Mrs. Stiles

So I already said it on Facebook, but I am officially Laurel Elizabeth Stiles. I guess I have been for a couple of weeks, but I finally got my driver's license in the mail which was the last piece that I was waiting for to be complete. So say hello to the new......Mrs. Stiles.
