Dancesport 2008

Dancesport was amazing this year. I competed in more events then I ever had, and I have a great time. The picture on top is of me and my Standard partner Josh. We danced in the Open Novice Standard Competition. We didn't get far, but it was still fun with all the atmosphere and practicing together. The bottom pictures are of my Latin partner, Paul, and me dancing the Paso Doble. We didn't get far in this dance either, or the Open Novice Latin Competition, but we were competing against couple that were at least 3 years ahead of us, so I am glad that we even tried. We did, however, make it into the semi-final round of our class event of the Rumba. Plus, my roommates and Adam and Anna came to see and support me, so I was happy. I even have some videos that I hope to put up so that you can see them. Overall, I am determined to work hard and at least make it into the finals next semester! As you can see, I am loving dancing!!

Mary is Married!

Well, on Thursday of this last week one of my best friends got married. She was a beautiful bride and I am so happy for her. These are some pictures of her bachelorette party and one that we took at her luncheon after her wedding. The luncheon was at Chinese restaurant called Joy Luck and it was good food and overall amazing. We were all tearing up as each person was able to get up and say something for or about the wedding couple. I am always kind of sad at weddings. It seems as if my friends are leaving and in some way they are, but I know that she will always be there for me.

My New Old Room

Recently we had our old dressers and desks changed out for brand new ones. The problem with the new desks is that there are no drawers, so I was left with all my junk on my bed. I therefore had to rearrange my room so that everything would fit. I had my two sheets in folded away, but I had to do something with them now, so here it is: My new old room. I actually really like it. It is like renaissance meets comtemporary in a poor college students room. I am proud of it though.

For other news, I finished "Emma" and am now on the last of Jane Austen's novels "Persuasion." When I finish this one, I will have read all of Jane Austen's novels in about a month. It is astonishing. Also yesterday was my former roommate, Mary's, bachelorette party. The old roommates got together and we partied all night long. It was a blast; I miss them so much. I never realized. I love old friends, they are like good books that you can always go back to and you fall in love with them all over again. Friends are amazing!!!
